Here is what I created:
Veerappan was born in 1952 in a village near the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border. He grew up in poverty and dropped out of school at a young age. He started working as a poacher and smuggler of ivory and sandalwood, and soon became the leader of a gang of outlaws. He operated in the dense forests of the Western Ghats, and used guerrilla tactics to evade the police and forest officials. He also cultivated contacts with local politicians and villagers, who supported him or feared him.
Veerappan was involved in several high-profile incidents that brought him national and international attention. In 1991, he killed 22 members of a special task force that was sent to capture him. In 2000, he kidnapped Kannada actor Rajkumar and demanded the release of his associates from prison. He released Rajkumar after 108 days, following negotiations with the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments. In 2002, he abducted former Karnataka minister H. Nagappa and demanded a ransom of Rs. 10 crore. He killed Nagappa after 106 days, claiming that he was shot by the police during a rescue attempt.
Veerappan's reign of terror came to an end on October 18, 2004, when he was killed in an encounter with a special task force led by K. Vijay Kumar. The operation, codenamed Operation Cocoon, involved luring Veerappan out of his hideout with the help of an informer and ambushing him in a vehicle. Veerappan and three of his associates were shot dead in the exchange of fire.
Veerappan's life and death have inspired several books, documentaries and films. Some of them are Veerappan: Chasing the Brigand by K. Vijay Kumar, Killing Veerappan by Ram Gopal Varma, Veerappan: The Untold Story by Sunaad Raghuram, and Veerappan: India's Most Wanted Man by Sunil Kumar. 061ffe29dd
